Another day and more activity

Today the packers arrived again and now the "PODS" to hold all the stuff and furnature that need to be moved so the flooring can be replaced! The men doing the replacement of the drywall finished yesterday but will returned to finish the painting after the flooring people finish.

No more Swiss cheese

Yesterday a huge amount was accomplished here at the house with all the holes filled with sheetrock and seamed and covered with the first lawyers of "mud".

Today they have started painting and we have six women here packing up most of the house so they can store most everything before moving the "stuff" into other rooms or PODS that will be placed on the driveway to hold everything.

This place is quite a mess - to say the least! More than half the house is being torn up while the other half is being used to store the furnature etc. so the flooring can be replaced.

Exhausted!

They have departed

Yesterday morning we were expecting the workmen at 9am and we waited and waited - nothing happened and we finally found out that we had sent the kids home about 14 hours too early!

We are to have the foreman of the job here this morning at 9am and the drywall man starting at 8 - 9am tomorrow. Of course, seeing is believing!

2007 Campers - the Miller boys are in Italy

They have all left!

Tonight we are exhausted and all our campers have safely departed - only to be replaced early in the morning by the workmen! The mess is all too real and we will have daily companionship for longer than we wish.

The kids are growing up so nicely and the older ones are so helpful but the time has come to end Camp Canoe (after eight years) and the responsibility for getting the cousins together now rests with the next generation. Hopefully they will find a way to get together - if only two families at a time to keep the friendshipa alive.

And the blog continues into Camp Canoe!

Yesterday our "campers arrived whie we had the floormen and the job coordinator visiting and trying to give us the necessary materials for the selection of replacement flooring! The Cannellas were the first to arrive and they were no sooner getting settled in when the Seldens arrived. All were VERY dissapointed that Will and Matthew are in Italy and not with us this year.

The kids choose their own room this year after an inspection of the rooms and the damage. A few trades took place but all settled in.

Today we headed over to the new pool and i was a hit! After reading time after a late lunch our planned trip to the old pool and the water slide was put off because the llifeguards had to empty the pool because of thunder. Back to the house for some fun with the ball on a string game (don't know the real name) and then inside for card games - Phase 10 is the new hit game of the season - when the rain started.

Tomorrow we will post some of the pictures.
